Thailand (II)

We woke up for breakfast at about 8.30am. For many holidays, I don't have the habit of waking up early for its free buffet. I'd prefer to get enough rest but my mum, you know lah, thinks it's better to fill your stomach early so you can walk till late afternoon before we take the next meal. Good point there lar. :)

Buffet was scrumptious, different variety of food available to suit most of our tastebuds. There's western, japanese, malay, indian, chinese and usual american breakfast style. It's quite dumb to eat CoCo crunch there when I eat them everyday back home. But aiya, it looks nicer with the white bowls and big spoons. :D

Lindy is so going to love this baby. She's been asking me to quickly upload thailand post. haha. Here is it babe! ;) Oh, look at my uncle's table. Little Safia is on it too! :P Appetizer..... heheh.. Everyone kept looking at her whenever they walk pass their table.

She's little, but she's really smart and agile. Not the usual kind of babies who kept sleeping especially at such tender age. She plays quite alot, she grabs my index finger with her tiny fingers, she respond when we were talking about her ( oh when I mean respond, she actually smiles, chuckles or even frown!). Oh, and she's a good listener. When you talk to her, she would open her eyes really wide and just look at your innocently. Awww... Oh oh! And when she knows other strangers are looking, she would stop crying and continue after the people are gone! lol. So cute lar. Even when we're shopping, I would go over and take a look at her every now and then. I'm missing her already! :(

Right after our breakfast, we went to the famous open pasar-malam - Chatuchak! It is damn huge man! I can't describe how many football fields this time, cos even I couldn't even finish going through all of them! More or less, the items sold were pretty much the same, just slight variation. So the only thing that differentiates them is ATTITUDE and PRICE! :D

They sell lots of TSHIRTS, Slippers/Sandals/Shoes, pretty clothes ( not many. most of them were pretty outdated ), home decor items, bags, pillow cases, accessories, sports wear and even PETS! YES, PETS! Little puppies, birds, fishes, hamsters, guinea pigs, iguana? and squirrels!! Haha.. It's the first time i see a live one! ;)

We spent about 5 hours walking all around chatuchak! It's a really hot day and it's very dry in thailand. The difference between Suan-lum and chatuchak is:-

- The stalls at Suan-lum are much more organised as compared.

- It is much more cooling in Suan-lum, the ventilation was MUCH MUCH better. Trust me. I even experienced breathing difficulty for some time at Chatuchak.

- It is not as crowded as CTC!! You won't have to walk down the narrow aisles and brushing through sticky and sweaty shoulders.

Oh and have you tried this?

Haha. I didnt try it too. I am not that gutsy. Munching down crunchy and crispy insects with legs sprouting out of your mouth IS a fear factor for me.

By 6, we went to look for my mum and uncle at their own Carrefour. It's called the HOme store! I was too tired, i didnt take any pictures.. :( Wah, their home store is LITERALLY home store. You can find everything there! I think if yuo wanna build your home from scratch, you can purchase raw materials and equipments from there! It's definitely much larger than our own carrefour! They even showcased variety of products, like mock-up toilets and bedrooms, using their bedsheets and curtains, like IKEA! Cool right? You can get everything under one roof! My mum actually bought us some curtains from there! (-.-") SO heavy lor. ...

My mum took 4 hours to choose the curtains lor!! My goodness.. So our dinner? Is super late again lar! We went down to Chinatown to eat their cheap sharkfin and birdnest!! This is the only place where you can find thais who speak mandarin lar.

There was once, I ordered a plate of SHEN MIAN (crispy noodle with sauce) and i actually ordered by its FULL name okay. It was called " Fried MAMA Noodle with sauce" and in the end, she gave me a plate of fried kway teow. So i pointed to another person's plate of SHEN MIAN and all she did was shake her head and tell me "35 Baht". She just didn't want to change it for me. :( Ya, 35 baht for foodcourt is cheap ok! Equivalent to Sg about $1.50 a plate.

ANYWAY... ok, CHinatown is a zestful place. Looks exactly like our chinatown. Bustling with truckloads of people even at 10.30pm! I was recommended to try at either NAM SENG seafood restaurant and HAI~3 WAI~4 TIAN~1. We ended up trying the latter.

Nothing much to comment.Huge bowl of shark fin lor, relatively cheap lar. There's birdnest also, but don't be too happy lah. It is quite cheap so you should expect something of less quantity ( or should i say quality? ). Thailand FIsh village (Thai Guo Yu Chun) at Taman Jurong is still best lar! Remember? The time we went for dinner during my mum's birthday.

After dinner, we went to Suan-Lum again! Wah..too many things to see lar. Didn't have time to finish! haha. But due to traffic jam, we arrived there at about 11.50pm.. most shops are closing already. So in the end, we headed back to hotel to rest early again lor.

I spent first 2 days shopping for gifts lor! Honestly, I felt quite dumb lar. Cos i wasted too much that's why I didnt buy much for myself. :(

Ok, gotta go. Very tired for now. Spent the entire day doing my bidding today. Damn those people who is super KIASU. Just dumped thousand over points in lor. URgh. I was changing my plan and doing alot of rescheduling. I got really stressed up, and as usual when I do, I would start panicking, whine non-stop and begin to tear. Talk more tomorrow!

COrinne: I wanan go thailand again too!! hehehe... waiting for opportunity! I missed the $2 offer lor.

Lixin: hey babe, which Amore you go?? Maybe if same we can go together the next time! ;)
