I am by nature, a really stubborn taurus. Sometimes, when I want something my way, I wouldn't mind the extra mile I had to run just to get it. And sometimes, it makes me wonder if it's really worth it?
I was on the way home after a long day on Wednesday. I was very, very tired, it felt as if I had bags of rice on my shoulders. At times like this, it makes the 13 minutes wait for bus A almost unbearable. Under the heavy downpour, standing next to bunch of smokers. . I could really box someone. When bus A arrived, there were no seats and I had to stand for 25 minutes all the way home. I really didn't like the idea, so I got off 3 stops later to change bus B.
Bus B is a better choice, because it reaches directly at the bustop which would be sheltered all the way to my block. Unlike Bus A, I had to cross the road and very likely get myself soaked wet too. On the downside, usually it only comes once every 12-15 minutes.
I waited another 10 minutes for Bus B, and I got really pissed sitting alone in the stupid bustop. When I finally see a pair of huge headlights 100 metres ahead, I thought my misery is coming to an end. To my utter dismay, another Bus A came! But a better one, with less people but still no seats. I seriously wasn't thinking right when I board that very bus. Why on earth would I wanna change Bus, but get back to another similar one with nothing gained? And worse, I wasted more time in exchange of hope for a better return.
Just 1 stop later, I got off again. This time, more determined that I will wait for Bus B, no matter how many Bus As come. Logically speaking, if another two Bus As go by, I would have arrived home if I hadn't got off the 1st Bus A I took.
True enough, 1 more Bus A gone by before my Bus B finally came. I got a good seat, I arrived directly at my stop, and I feel alot happier despite the longer time taken to get home.
Many people would have taken Bus A and just take the 25 minutes ride home. Least it's more certain; albeit more tiring as you stand all the way home. But I thought to myself, why would I want to resort myself into self-misery, going through something that is making my life so unhappy? I took the longer way; little more risky but alot happier.
Ultimately, I still arrive at my destination; my goal.
