2013 has been an eventful year.
Got a good appraisal for the previous year; my sales manager whom I've worked with for the last few years has given me due recognition too. Apart from appraisal, I've recieved a few awards this year. By the last quarter, I finally manage to sub-lead a mini team of my own and 'upgraded' another senior sales manager to work with.Although it wasn't all smooth sailing throughout, I wouldn't complain for the blessings I've recieved in return.
After living together for a few years, I've grown to love having my own home. We've got our own time together, to utilize the kitchen and oven a lot more (baking and cooking! yayy!).We spend more time watching movies at home and having friends over occassionally. Some bad habits do surface overtime, and we had our fair share of quarrels, but I guess that's part and parcelof accomodating another person in our lives.
The biggest change that occurred this year, was a life changing one.
I'm about to change from a selfish to a selfless person. To care about someone else more than myself. To sacrifice & dedicate almost the rest of our lives to give our best and our all..to the new addition to the family.
Not exactly a surprise since we've actually made plans for it. Strangely, when it came, it just seems that no amount of time can get you ready for this. From day 1 till now at Week 36, there are so much to learn from this experience and to explore and understand. My first trimester was hell; I puked all day and night. I had zero appetite for anything and almost every smell turns me off. All you want to do is hide and not do anything.
Second trimester got better; we also found out the gender. A little disappointed at first to be frank, I believed most first time moms kinda wanted to have a girl first. We had a little boy, the boy that had my entire hormonal system haywire. Haha, I had horrible acne and pimple outbreak in my face and my back. I've gained tremendous weight and fat.
Third trimester was actually my best; I had good appetite. I had mood to do chores and continue some cooking and baking. I begin to enjoy the kicing, the toss and turning of the little. The movements got stronger; it was as if he was somersaulting most of the time. The entire tummy actually wobbled and moved like a waves of the ocean.
Throughout this process, I was thankful that my husband did help to feed, care and do chores for me. To also carry items for me most of them time. He still pisses me off now and thenwhen he starts his obsession on gaming again.. but still, he was pretty good to me all this while. Oh and yes, to end of the year he actually surprised me with a giant gift - Gift in a large orange box. Never dreamed of owning one but he made it happened. Couldn't ask for more :)
My friends and colleagues were also very supportive; constantly on the look out for me if I'm hungry or needed help to move things. My mom was the star of this entire process because she has showed me the best mother there can ever be. She buys me maternity clothes that makes me look good instead of old; she cooks healthy meals for me everyday. If i had no appetite, she wouldn't force me to eat more but rather, to make food for me later if I'm hungry. She made sure i was well taken care off. She comforted me when I was feeling unsure and unhappy; she has given me all the support I needed, both emotionally and physically. Through this experience, we have grown much closer too. Ironically, we both got hooked to an online farming game that got us insane enough to be talking or whatsapping about it every other day!
Now as I'm approaching the last lap of the journey, thought it would be nice to draft my thoughts while I still can. Might not even have timeto do this anymore for 2014. It's a wonderful year I must say, and I'll try to update again once the little one arrives in a month's time :)
