And appreciate the gifts from people at work!

Candle light dinner with overview of the city.

And what made it special this year?
After our movie about 11.40pm, Xav told me we were heading towards somewhere with a 'good view' of the countdown. It wasn't new year so I don't suppose there would be any fireworks. But giving him the benefit of doubt, I followed blindly believing there would be something exciting ahead.
Strangely, he brought me back to Swissotel.
And I already had a hunch about 'it' coming.
I stepped into the dark room, dimly lit with candles and roses. I was asked to go into the bathroom first (diao) to continue to wonder, how was the room decorated when he was with me all the while? I picked up the huge card and started reading.
For once, he wrote more than 20 sentences - mostly promises about the itsy bitsy things. And then, being the kan chiong spider, without having to finish the entire card, I flipped to the last page. Although he was quick enough to scold me and stop me from reading, I caught a glimpse of it still.
" Will you ____________________ forever"?
I knew it.
Anyhows, I went on the reading the card and he started playing "Edwin Mcain's - I could not ask for more" in the background. A little disappointing here cos I was expecting him to sing to me (since I already hinted him more than 10 times how I wished he could sing to me live someday). His excuse this time was that he was coughing badly and lost his voice! :(
Then I was led to the room with a prettily decorated bed, with the words to fill in the blank in the card previously. Well, don't ask me what it meant (only my close friends will know what it means) ;)

Ok, although its really quite common and cliche for people to propose and decorate in a hotel room, I appreciate the effort and coordination process. Well, who actually did all that? Thanks to his brother and sister who came in an hour before to cut all the roses, and decorate the place!
And that Xav ah, didn't even asked me nicely. He kept nudging and asking, " Er.. so How..". Well, I was already touched by then, slightly tearing so I just nodded. Ah.. wasn't quite my dream-scenario ...
Like a stroll along the beach with candles surrounding me, and he would play the violin (well guitar works too) and singing gently maybe two sentences of a song. And then, spend 5 minutes talking about the long journey we had, and start pouring his heartfelt feelings and also, assuring promises while he look into my eyes.. Then.. the mighty question!
I will so cry and sob and say yes and be a broken radio, repeating this 10 times over to all my friends.
but ah.. dreams will be dreams. :X haha, maybe next anniversary.
In the end, we celebrated the night with wine and log-cake with the wedding planners as well ;)
