Life's short

I bumped into a friend D, whom I've known for 7 years, when I was walking back with Giorgio.

He looked still as suave, but more prim and proper now, with a pair of glasses and a nice polo-tee. He still had the pack of ciggies on his hand.

Memories of the past flashed back, on how I used to spend my teenage years after I broke up with my very first long-term boyfriend. I was devastated and it was then when I met D and the bunch of other friends.

They were like brothers to me; who watched over me for quite a while, took me out for rides (it was 'cool' to have friends who rides a sport bike back then), for late night supper, for karaokays and chilling session at our favorite CCK Coffee Club.

I spent a great deal of time hanging out with them at Coffee Club, how we used to share and keep each other updated on our lives, school, people we've dated, getting over our exs,etc..

I can't remember why but somehow, we all lost touched since 1999. Once in awhile, we would bump into each other, sometimes we would look up each other at Friendster to see how's everyone doing. Some of them got married, some got major job change, some had great achievements like getting into international sports team, etc.

It was only today, when D actually told me one of the guys, W, has passed on yesterday in an accident at work. I was really shocked and saddened.. firstly for the fact that he's only 28, and he had left behind a beautiful wife and a son. I really didn't expect to hear such a news, after not meeting up for so long.

I didn't have the courage to ask more, neither did I ask about the wake. Although we weren't exactly very close friends, I didn't think I was able to handle all that.. especially seeing his wife and son there too.

Life's short, it's always full of unpredictable events. Never imagined it to end this way, it was way too early for W.. Sigh. May he be in peace, and his family to find solace soon..
