My date with the animals @ the Zoo on 6th July.
My love for animals has never faded. It's always something about them that makes them lovable. And the funny thing is, most people only label most furry animals "cute". Since when do we ever hear anyone describing a crocodile or platypus
cute? Hardly. Really.

A hot sunny Sunday to visit the animals; fortunately I was all prep-ed with my huge sunnies and layers of sunblock. And a matching-themed green dress. It was a good exercise to be walking up slopes and down hills, covering as much area on the map as possible. I've never taken the Zoo tram ride, and my first has made it more fun than ever. The inner child-like excitment makes me literally skipping for joy as we go along the way! Whee!

White tigers, my favorite! We stood for more than 10 minutes under the scorching sun, just waiting along with almost twenty people, for the tigers to wake up and do something. Anything. Watching them sleep during the first 2 minutes was still "awww, look at them! So cute". Entering the third and forth minute became boring. And by five, people are making all kinds of funny noises just to wake these white cats. Kids are also meowing away, thinking they could convey the same message we all hoped we could to the tigers.
Lucky for us, the wait was worth it. Two of them woke up and begin circling along the edges of their terrority. We were like 10-year-olds, taking pictures in excitement. The heady moments didn't last; and the next few minutes were anticlimax again as they did nothing but going back and forth in circles. (-.-)
Here's the galore of pictures, capturing snippets of the animals lives. Some just woke up from their nap, some were showing their very best side to the crowd, some were simply nonchalant. Wondered if we actually made a difference in their lives having visitors crowding around their containment everyday. Like, they could even differentiate the weekends and weekdays by estimating the number of people present. Or, how they could study the different individuals, the young and the old, our physique, learn and try to understand our behavior and expressions. And how these little things to 'think' about, actually made time pass by faster.
Oh well, maybe they don't even think that much about life at all. *shrugs*
