A blissful event

It must be an auspicious day today because there are about 4 weddings that I know of, that takes place on this very day. Four weddings of different culture and tradition; namely two malay weddings, one indian and one chinese wedding.

Just myself, I attended two malay weddings. This is the picture of the first one during the afternoon, which is my boyfriend's childhood buddy's wedding. Over 20 years of friendship, this is the day he shares his happy day with us.

After that, it was Ari's wedding. Ari is one of my good friends since poly days. We've known both Ari and her boyfriend,Naz for almost 4 years too. Ari is a really spontaneous and bubbly girl; one that brings life to our group outings and trips. I still remember our trip to Genting and I shared rooms with her. She's really comfortable to be with, a nice and caring lady.

As for Naz, he's well-known for his 'suaning' skills. Nobody but Naz can suan Ray until he has nothing to say except to blush bashfully. He's a really comical person, one that makes all of us laugh. It's always fun to have him around, to put smiles on everyone's faces.

This very day, is also a special day for both of them and for us, to share this blissful and romantic wedding of our dear friends. :)

Ari's wedding was a really beautiful one. The decor, the wedding recept, the guests, the whole package was beautiful! It was done up really well, romantically bloomed with roses, silk and satin. It was almost like a quixotic fantasy land of love.

Ari's sister has done a wonderful job as well. Her warm hospitality made all of us feel welcomed, her sense of humour lightened the hungry guests and despite the humid weather, we all had a good evening.

The special segment was really touching. Ari's sister made a video that incorporates videos of Ari's colleagues and her sister's wishes. All the thoughts about missing Ari's presence simply touched our hearts as well as hers. I could see tears gathering in her eyes too. *sobsob*

The second half of the segment was from Naz and I must commend him for this brilliant idea and courage to pull it off really well. He actually prepared a song beforehand to sing infront of many family, friends and guests, specially for Ari.

As I held my breath as I await for the song title, I could feel my heart pounding for Ari. I couldn't imagine how it would be to be standing right infront of everyone. It must be, as I queerly put this, a feeling of 'embarrassing blessedness'. How friends just watch in awe and envy as Naz looked into her eyes and sang,

I wanna make you smile whenever you're sad
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad
All I wanna do is grow old with you

I'll get your medicine when your tummy aches
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks
Oh it could be so nice, growing old with you

I'll miss you
Kiss you
Give you my coat when you are cold

Need you
Feed you
Even let ya hold the remote control

So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink
Put you to bed if you've had too much to drink
I could be the man who grows old with you
I wanna grow old with you

A b s o l u t e l y r o m a n t i c.

A maudlin real life story that many ladies dream of; a chimerical hopelessly romantic paradise. Even I was almost touched to tears, as he brought his knees to the ground, ending the love song with "I wanna grow old with you".

This is so typical of my ideal proposal! Gosh. A hunk in guitar, singing a love song to me. (dreaming, dreaming, dreaming)

So much for today, I shall end it here. :)
