Every year, it's a custom that we plan programs for each other's birthday. However, on a general note, men are usually less sensitive to details; leaving out little gestures which could actually mean a lot to the ladies. Like, showing enthusiasm could mean how much the guy is looking forward towards the event. Or, like how birthday cards could give men a chance to write sweet nothings that they never had the courage to say right infront of the woman they love. You get the idea.Every year, for some reason, my boyfriend would forget to get me a card. How could he forget the card? It's almost like forgetting the cake. Ok, I know this doesn't make sense, but what I'm saying is: it's like for the entire year, I patiently waited for these 3 days out of the 365 days, just to 'hear' the sweet nothings again. But least he made the effort to try harder each year. Like in 2005, he bought me a card the next day to make up to me. In 2006, he bought it right before we met (you can tell from the writing; the words are going upwards).
This year was different. He actually had the day's activites planned AND he actually got me a card! With neater handwriting. And surprise dinner location! Here we are, at the Forbidden City - IndoChine Clarke Quay.

At first, I didn't quite like the ambience. It's probably too cheena. Or, too pub-ish. Putting that aside, even the food is expensive! None of the names look familiar or tell much of what the food is about!
But.. when you smell that fragrant aroma of salted fish with fried rice, the crispy golden-brown prawns, the tender-fresh cod fish with vermicelli and baked pepper chicken with herbs, you'll start to love that place already. The food tasted reallyyy good; am not kidding! Servings were also so huge, we felt like we ate for the 10 people!
Try it someday, you'll definitely not regret. Word of caution: if there's only two person dining, just order 2 dishes and a plate of fried rice! It's more than enough! :)
After a heavy meal of ambroisal food, we went back to my favorite cineplex for a movie! Cathay will always be my favorite cineplex! :) We went to catch Blades of glory. You can read up my review for that in the previous entry.
I had a wonderful birthday. It makes a whole lot difference and better, because my company was you.
