Kinship, relationship and friendships. These bonds were not created by luck nor fate; bonds grow with time and patience. In my world, nothing is created. All things has to be earned.
Trust, faith and patience.
Although these three terms seemed really similar, they are not the same.
First one is understood, as most of us know trust was never given but acquired overtime.
Faith was not given to you by any god in the world, but cultivated only when there is belief.
Patience was not innate, but gradually accrues with experience.
With faith, you have belief you'd be able to complete a closely knitted sweater.
With patience, you'd be able to complete the sweater over a long time.
With trust, to maintain the completed sweater in good condition.
Isn't these the essence of knitting our bonds?
All our relationships start with nothing but your needle and yarn. We need to have faith that the friendship would work; we need patience to understand a person; we need trust to maintain the closely knitted bond in good shape.
Of course, when we are not careful, we might prick ourselves when we trust the wrong person. And sometimes, certain relationships have tighter and closer knits than others. Even after the sweater is completed, we should not take things for granted. Frizz due to minor pulls could still be fixed, if you are willing to take out our needle again, just like when we first started, to mend the little hole. It may take time and trouble, but isn't it worthwhile to mend it?
Without constant care in washing and drying, it might be severely damaged and never be able to repair the broken threads.
We may knit new wears along the way, but the old ones will still be the most precious. They are, afterall, most comfortable and seasoned ones that accompanied you a long, long way.
