This is the last time I'm gonna be talking about World Cup. Think my friends think I'm obsessed over it for too long, and finally, it ended last night.
Most people would be talking about the usual news, and here is my piece of rounding up too.
It's been a really fulfilling World Cup this season. I will never experience it the way I do again. This is the 3rd World Cup I've seen but this year is the first time I could watch almost all matches at ease. Because I didnt have school or work, I didnt have to worry about not being able to wake up the next day, I can watch all matches without much problems or hold backs.
Applause to the outstanding members and teams that made it to the top; Podolski was crowned "Best Young Player", and even though KLOSE had the lowest top-scoring goals in world cup at total of 5, he was the winner of "GOLDEN SHOE AWARD 2006". The "MOST ENTERTAINING TEAM" and "GOLDEN BALL AWARD" results were not out yet.
Some others didn't win any awards. Nonetheless, they will still be remembered for how they've performed so far. Like Kahn, played a wonderful game during the Portugal match. Schweinsteiger made his mark during the last match, striking two goals for Germany. FIGO, made a perfect cross for his teammates to score a glorious goal to wrap up the game. Maniche, C.Ronaldo sure did made Portugese proud as well. Oh, and Klinnsman is a good coach! (Good looking & charismatic one too ;P )
Although Frank Lampard didn't score a single goal throughout, I'm sure everyone is still proud of his effort of 24 tries throughout the entire WC. The top-ten candidates for Golden Ball were remarkable as well; especially Thierry Henry, he's tremendous effort last night left a deep impression of him. Not forgetting one of the best defenders Cannavaro from Italy, the great great Goal keeper, Buffon and the legendary symbol of soccer, Zinedine Zidane. I was still really appalled by what happened last night, it was such a pity that his last match ended in a 'ungracious' manner. No one knew what on earth happened. It wasn't his nature to be acting on impulse; comments by the Italian must have been really awful that sparked the confrontation.
Enough of speculation, whatever it is, Italy has won the World Cup 2006. I don't have much to say because I didn't really liked their team.. No sportsmanship. Just happy that everyone played well, it was a spectacular season to remember. All other players; too many to name, well done! :)
Least this worldcup certaintly brought my family much closer together. :D
PS: these were just my opinions and comments.
