Which is more important;
Substance or Luck?
"Matchpoint" the movie proved one point.
LUCK is.
You may be a kick-ass perfect player in the world. If some stupid fly flies into your eye and distracts your concentration, how would that affect the matchpoint? ( This is juz my silly example.)
OR..
You may be an unscupulous son-of-a-b*tch out there who would do harm to anyone just for your own gains, but some day, some junkie was caught for your act instead ( everything is too coincidental that the junkie is a more possible culprit). How lucky are you man?
Geez, this really made me think alot.
Initially, i found the movie really boring even after it ended. It was only when the Credits were rolling, all these thoughts just struck me. And i went like "ORHHH...its all about this!".
Man, i suddenly believe that luck plays a very important part in our lives. We just didnt see it or realize it. Not that we have to be reliant or heavily dependent on luck, but luck will be the tipping point of every outcome. Substance brings you far, but not a determinant of your success.
